A Mid-Day Prayer

My Lord,

Yes, I am lost.

Yes, I have embraced this period of uncertainty, which you have placed before me.

Yes, I am a sinner, full of flaws.

I am prideful, I am gluttonous, I sloth, I defile the human vessel. The body which I have the arrogance at times to call “my” body.

How can I consider something that you created to be mine?!

I am a silly being in many regards, but truly a foolish understanding in this above all others.

In my daily prayers I recite in earnest “thy will be done”.

Yet, I am doubtful of these words I speak as though you are not always with me, or hear my pleas.

Why, of course you hear me and are with me.

Of course you did not create me in my mother’s womb out of mere boredom.

You are omniscient, omnipotent and all knowing.

My foolish self.

So, it would seem at times and in accident I doubt your plans and will for me.

For these transgressions, above all, I beg your forgiveness my Lord.

I pray these things in the name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit.

Amen!
