Good morning friends,
A few pieces went out from me this week. You can find them below. For everything in one place, my site holds the archive.
If I had to name the last few weeks, to pin down their shape in a single phrase, it would be this: a procession of unholiness, parading from the hidden chambers of my own heart.
God, in His patient grace, is placing each one before me. Not to shame me, but to show me. Look, He says. See this here? This is not yours to carry. They are mostly lies I’ve mistaken for my own thoughts. Beliefs about myself, about others, forged in old fires of hurt or lack.
He is pleased when we ask. Not when we pretend we don’t see the procession. Not when we try to shoo the unholiness back into the dark corners ourselves. He is pleased when we stand, humbled, and say, “Your hands, Father. Your guidance. Please, rid me of this.”
The transformation is not comfortable. It is the scraping away of scar tissue. The unlearning of survival behaviors that kept us alive in a war zone but hobble us on the path of peace. These behaviors kept us on our heels, faith weak, eyes on the threat instead of the Guide. The Holy Spirit is leading us back to the narrow path, and the old reflexes fight Him every step.
But when the lie is finally named and released, when the adopted survival tactic is laid down, there is a heart-lift. A soul-level relief. A peace that comes not from a change in circumstance, but from a cleaning of the inner house.
That is all, and thank you for reading.
