What I love is how you detail what the fire is doing. If people are open to allowing the fire to do its work, and not see it as a punishment, their character would actually change. What is sad is, most people want the change to happen under their terms. They read their Bible and hope transformation happens magically via osmosis. When in reality, accepting pressure and trials as a training period, with desire gets the results. I would love to hear how you got from that place of complacency in the beach to swimming in the deep end.
You hit the nail on the head. We want the fruit without the fire. My transition from complacency to the deep end came when I realized that standing a watch in the shallows doesn't actually test your gear. I got tired of the 'magic' expectation and started looking for the 'training' reality. Accepting the pressure wasn't a punishment; it was the only way to see if my faith was actually seaworthy. It turns out, the deep end is the only place where you truly learn what and Who is holding you up. ππΏβπ
Did you have to ask for it like I did or does it just happen and you realize whatβs happening? I want people to know what precedes this walk of faith?

I asked. But that doesn't mean I think it's a requirement.
For me the sequence of revelations was something like this;
One:
Β«The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and the knowledge of the Holy One is insight.Β»
Proverbs 9:10 ESV
Two:
I want to please my Father and I don't always know the best way to do that.
Three:
Ask Him if I am missing something. What are my blind spots?!
Hope that answers your question? let me know, my mind may be on a different track. π³π
