The pieces I shared this past week might feel different. You may not find a single, neat thread running through them. I noticed it too.

The last couple of weeks have been atypical for a simple, humbling reason. I feel like I’ve run out of things to talk to God about.

Yes, there are the constant prayers of gratitude for family, friends, and health. But there was a season where my prayer life was a long list of asks. Recently, I’ve found myself surrendering all those needs, trusting He will deliver precisely what I need, when I need it.

So my walks have been in silence. My prayer has been, “God, I’m here. I’m looking for anything you may have for me. Until then, my heart and eyes are fixed on you, even in the quiet.”

Apart from my Bible study, I’ve spent more time in stillness than in conversation. My initial impulse was to say, “I haven’t felt particularly spiritual lately.” But that would be a lie. We don’t have to be actively doing something to be in prayer. Prayer is also being still with the Lord. And this I have done.

We can overthink what it means to be a faithful servant. I’m particularly prone to this. Sometimes it’s a bug in my system. Other times, it’s a feature. This season has been a reminder that faithfulness isn’t always measured in words spoken. Sometimes, it’s measured in silence endured, in the patient trust of a heart that has handed over the list and is now simply waiting, watching, and listening for the next whispered instruction.

The articles from this period reflect that. They are the output of a mind in a listening posture. I share them with you, not as curated lessons, but as honest reflections from the path.
